At Home Pelvic Exam Technology
As women, one of the most invasive, disturbing medical procedures we undergo is a pelvic exam. It is not something that any woman looks forward to. Considering that up to 1/3 of women have experienced sexual assault, having a virtual stranger touching the very target of that assault is also traumatic.
Balance Innovation Center is developing a means for women to do the exam at home, as well as collecting tissue for a HPV test. All of this can be done in the privacy a woman’s home.
